Answer» Answer: HEY mate here is your answer Density BOTTLES are mainly used to determine the density of liquids of moderate viscosity. They are not volumetric INSTRUMENTS, however, they are calibrated 'to contain' as in the case of volumetric FLASKS. Determine the weight of the dry and empty density bottle. Fill the density bottle with LIQUID, avoiding bubbles. Explanation: hope it helps. |

Why the volleyball, basketball and football are designed differently ? |
Answer» Answer: BASKETBALL and Volleyball There is a NET in middle of a volleyball court, but there is nothing blocking a basketball court. And volleyball players have to stay on their own SIDE. But basketball players can run up and down the entire court freely. The second difference is the size of the ball and how HARD it is. |

Very often you must have seen traffic police stopping motorists or scooter drivers who drive fast and fine them. Does fine for speeding depend on average speed or instantaneous speed ? Explain |
Answer» For every road(highway ,street roads and city roads) there is a MAXIMUM speed limit, which you can see on sign boards at road sides. If anyone crosses that maximum speed limit, then traffic police fines. It depends on instantaneous speed of a vehicle. Explanation: Instantaneous speed. Stopping for 1 hour during a journey does not give you the permission to DRIVE at 100 km/hr for the rest of your journey. (In this case the AVERAGE speed may be well below LIMITS, but you will still be fined because u drove at 100 km/hr) |

Does pressure have direction? Explain. |
Answer» Answer: Therefore, PRESSURE is a SCALAR quantity, not a vector quantity. It has MAGNITUDE but no direction sense associated with it. Pressure force acts in all directions at a point inside a gas. At the surface of a gas, the pressure force acts perpendicular (at right angle) to the surface. |

Explain briefly how lightining occurs in nature |
Answer» Explanation: Lightning is an electric current. To make this electric current, first you need a cloud. When the ground is hot, it heats the air above it. This warm air rises. As the air rises, WATER vapour cools and forms a cloud. When air continues to rise, the cloud gets bigger and bigger. In the tops of the clouds, temperature is below freezing and the water vapour turns into ice. Now, the cloud becomes a thundercloud. Lots of small bits of ice bump into each other as they MOVE around. All these collisions cause a build up of electrical charge. Eventually, the whole cloud fills up with electrical charges. Lighter, positively charged particles form at the top of the cloud. Heavier, negatively charged particles SINK to the bottom of the cloud. When the positive and negative charges grow large enough, a giant spark - lightning - occurs between the two charges within the cloud. This is like a static electricity sparks you see, but much bigger. Most lightning happens inside a cloud, but sometimes it happens between the cloud and the ground. A build up of positive charge builds up on the ground beneath the cloud, attracted to the negative charge in the bottom of the cloud. The ground's positive charge concentrates around ANYTHING that sticks up - trees, lightning conductors, EVEN people! The positive charge from the ground connects with the negative charge from the clouds and a spark of lightning strikes. |

A bullet is fired into wood. The bullet penetrates for 7s to come to rest. Find the distancetravelled by the bullet in the wood if the retardation offered by the wood is 0.4m/s1) 2.8m2) 6.8m3) 5.6m4) 9.8m |
Answer» Answer: 9.8 m Explanation: This questions can be answered in TWO steps. STEP 1 : (Finding the value of u) V = u + at [FIRST equation of motion] Here, v = 0 [ as it is given that it comes to the state of rest] a = -0.4 m/s t = 7 seconds On putting the values, 0 = u + (-0.4 x 7) 0 = u + (-2.8) So, u = 2.8 m/s STEP 2 : (Finding the distance) s = ut + 1/2 at square s = (2.8 x 7) + { 1/2 x (-0.4) x 7 square } s = 19.6 + { (-0.4 x 49) / 2} s = 19.6 + (-19.6/2) s = 19.6 + (-9.8) s = 19.6 - 9.8 = 9.8 Therefore, DISTANCE = 9.8 m |

Brain drillWhy it takes a much longertime and distance to stop amoving ship in water than amoving car in road ? |
Answer» Answer: Because the ship has a much GREATER MASS and momentum. Momentum is the product of mass and velocity. In order to change an object's momentum, you have to apply a force for a certain amount of TIME. If you apply the same braking force to a CAR and to a ship for the same amount of time, both vehicles will LOSE the same amount of momentum, but because of the ship's greater mass, it won't slow down as much as the car. |

Explain the effect of area of contact on frictional force with an activity. |
Answer» Answer: The force due to FRICTION is generally independent of the contact area between the two surfaces. This means that even if you have two HEAVY objects of the same mass, where ONE is half as long and twice as HIGH as the other one, they still experience the same frictional force when you drag them over the GROUND |
