11. The image of an object formed by a mirror is real, inverted and is of magnification -1. If the image is at the distanceof 30 cm from the mirror, where is the object placed? Find the position of the image if the object is now moved 20 cmtowards the mirror. What is the nature of the image obtained? Justify your answer with the help of ray diagram. 3 |
Answer» When magnification is -1 then it means that object is placed at the center of curvature of the mirror now here we will have image distance 30 cm from the mirror now we can saym=-1=di/do so from above equation di=do=30cm also we know that when M = -1 then di=do=2fso f = 15 cm now when object is moved 20 cm towards the mirror new position of object from the mirror will be 10 cm now from mirror formula1/di+1/do=1/fdi=30cm also here magnification will be m=+3 so image will be virtual and magnified and formed at 30 cm distance behind the mirror |

S-15-SC2-02-oA coil of insulated wire is connected to a galvanometer. Explain what happens if a barif a bar 3magnet with its north pole towards one face of the coil is(i) moved quickly towards the coil,(i) kept stationary inside the coil, and(iii)moved quickly away from the coil ?oil f n turns is n times as large as produced 3 |
Answer» Ans: (i) when magnet is pushed near a bar magnet then it induces current due to electromagnetic induction.(ii) When the bar magnet is withdrawn from inside the coil of the insulated copper wire again the current is induced in the coil but this time it is in reverse direction.(iii) When a bar magnet is held stationary inside the coil then no current is induced that’s why galvanometer will show no deflection. please like the solution 👍 ✔️👍 move quickly toward the coil |

7. Why do the diamonds dazzle in light? |
Answer» Diamond has a very high refractive index (about 2.42 compared to about 1.5 for glass). The amount of light reflected at an air/whatever interface is related to the refractive index change at the interface, and generally speaking the bigger the refractive index change the more light is reflected. So if you compare a diamond to a piece of glass cut into the same shape, the diamond will reflect more light and therefore it will sparkle more. The sparkling isn't just the high refractive index - the shape matters too. Diamonds are cut so that a light ray falling on the diamond is reflected multiple times inside the diamond and therefore sends light out in all directions. |

Answer» a-3d, a-d, a+d, a+3d are 4 terms in an AP(a-3d) + (a-d) + (a+d) + (a+3d) = 4 a - 3d + a - d + a - d + a + 3d = 44a = 4a=1(a-3d)(a-d)(a+3d)(a+d) = 385(a^2 - 3d^2)(a^2 - d^2 ) = 385Using a =1 ( 1 - 3d^2) ( 1 - d^2 ) = 3851 - d^2 - 3d^2 + 3d^4 = 3853d^4 - 4d^2 - 384 = 0 3d^4 - 3d^2- d^2- 384Factorise 9d⁴-10d²-385and we get d=8/3 |

Answer» A² = b + c b² = c + ac² = a + b a² - b² = b - a => (a - b) (a + b) = b - a => a + b = -1 or a = b 1) a + b ≠ - 1 as c² is not negative, if c is a real number. a = b => c² = 2 a similarly, b = c => a² = 2 b (as b+c ≠ -1, as a² is non negative) and c = a => b² = 2 a so we get a = b = c = 2 1/1+a + 1/1+b + 1/1+c = 1/3 + 1/3 + 1/3 = 3/3 = 1 Like my answer if you find it useful! |
