as we know minute hand makes 360° in 60 minutes.

so in 18 minutes make angle = 360/60*18

=108°

angle made = 30*h -(11/2)*m

where h is hour hand and m is minute hand. here h=3 because time is between 3pm and 4pm.

angle made = 30*3-(11/2)*x

⇒108 = 90-(11/2)x

⇒(11/2)x= -18

⇒x = -36/11

⇒x= -3.27

negative shows that angle is made in anticlock wise direction.

so the time is 30+3.27 =33.27minute

it means at 3:33.27 minute hour hand and minute hand makes 18 minute space.
