Answer» Correct Answer - A
Birth and Death of stars. A cloud of gas (Hydrogen , Helium) and dust is formed. Initially the temperature is low (`-173^(@)C` to `-263^(@)C`). Gravitational attraction brings about contractoin of the cloud. The dense ball of gas and dust is now called protstar. the core part of protostar begins to become hot due to collision of particles. Ultimately the temperature reaches `10^(7).^(@)C` when nuclear fusion converts hydrogen into helium releasing a lot of energy. Protostar new begins to glow and changes into star. In star a delicate balance is maintained between gravitational and internal pressure due to release of energy. Sun is a balanced star.
As most of core hydrogen is changed into helium, nuclear fusions stop in the central core part. The core shrinks and its density increase numerous fold converting helium into carbon and oxygen. Hydrogen continuous to undergo nuclear fusion onthe outside of the occure but at a much faster rate that increases expnasion of the outer mass which begins to glow red. The star is now called red giant. Star Mia is present in the red giant stage. Its mass is equal to that of our sun but is at present so big that it can accomodate 100 million star.
If the mass of red gaint star is about equal to or less than that of sun,the outer gaseous part disapeares slowly while the core condenses further into very heavy hot ball called white dwarf. Ultimately it will cool down. A piece of white dwarf equal to size of sugar cube may weight 1 tonne or 1000 kg on earth. However, if red giant start has mass much higher than that of sun, different events occur. The core comes to have carbon, oxygen, neon, silicon and iron. Energy librated outside the core is enormous. It explodes the outer mass. The exploding star is called supernova. It emits light billion times bright than sun because it liberates energy per second equal to energy radiated by sun in 100 years. Consequently, the sky will remain lighted up for several days, will remains lighted up for several days. Supernova has been recorded by our prodecessors in `185` A.D. 386, 393, 1006, 1181, 1572 and 1604 A.D., A supernova from an adjacent galaxy was recorded on 24 Feb. 1987.
The iron of supernova continuous to contract whereby electrons and protons of the atoms combine to form neutrons. The core is now changed into neutrons star which is only 20-20 km across but very heavy with a pinhead of its matter weighing `10^(6)` tonnes. A neutrons star rotates very fast and emits electric signals or pulse. it is therefore, also called plusar.

Answer» Correct Answer - B
Gene Amlification. (Polymerase chain Reaction or PCR). It is a technique of in vitro repeated duplication of selected intact or broken DNA. Million of copies of selected DNA can be made within or few hours. It requires sample DNA, primers, nucleotides and polymerases. Thermostable DNA polymerase or Taq polymerase of thermophilic bacterium Thermus aquaticus is used. The mixture is heated (for separation of two DNA starands ) and cooled (for DNA replication) alternatively. The whole cycle takes 30 minutes. The process is repeacted a few times. By using this technique, DNA of a dead man was amplified and analysed to find HIV in his cells.
