Write the zeros of the polynomial x2 ‒ x ‒ 6.

Let f(x) = x² – x – 6

= x² – 3x + 2x – 6

= x(x – 3) + 2(x – 3)

= (x – 3)(x + 2)

To find the zeros of f(x), let sat f(x) = 0, we get

(x – 3)(x + 2) = 0

Either x – 3 = 0 or x + 2 = 0

x = 3 or x = -2

Therefore, 3, -2 are zeros.
