⭐as we GO downwards the group ..the number of the Methylene groups goes on increasing ...obtaining higher derivatives of the Organic family ...

⭐Thus if the methane is the first member then...

⭐METHANE == CH4

⭐ETHANE == C2H6

⭐PROPANE == C3H8

⭐BUTANE == C4H10

⭐PENTANE == C5H12

⭐thus the General formula is CnH2n+2
