WHAT IS THE LAW OF TRIAD?

  • A triad is a grouping of three elements in order of atomic mass.

WHAT DOES THE LAW STATE?

  • The AVERAGE of the first and third elements' atomic masses is the atomic mass of the second element.
  • Three elements of the triad had SIMILAR chemical properties.

LIMITATIONS

  • Dobereiner could find only three TRIADS.
  • It failed to ARRANGE all the then known elements in the FORM of triads.
