I THINK it's mound of onion peel.
FIRST take the thin transparent membrane like structure out of the onion by using forceps.
Dip it in water .
PUT it in saffronin stain.
Put some glycerin on the slide and put the peel on it .
COVER with coverslip
Observe under microscope
