Answer» Rearing of silkworm in order to obtain silk is sericulture. Leaves of the mulberry trees are the main food for these silk worms. Once planted the mulberry trees survive for a minimum period of 15 years. Silk thread is obtained from the cocoon of the silk. These threads are very fine & strong. They are used to weave silk cloth.
