Write down the complete process of breakdown of glucose in both antibiotic and unbiotic respiration |
|
Answer» STEP 1 of 4 In almost all organisms glycolysis and cellular respiration takes PLACE. During glycolysis, glucose is broken down in the cytosol; pyruvate is formed liberating small amount of ATP. A net energy yield of 2 ATP and 2 NADH MOLECULES were produced in glycolysis process. Cellular respiration takes place in mitochondria, where pyruvate is broken down in the presence of oxygen. The high-energy electron-carrier NADH from glycolysis is captured in ATP liberating large amount of ATP molecules. A net energy yield of 2 ATP, 8 NADH, and two FADH2 molecules were produced at the end of cellular respiration process. |
