Answer» i) One isomer of HEXANE is 2 methyl pentane. Hexane is an ALKANE with six carbon atoms. Isomers of an element are those having same molecular formula but different shapes or configuration. In case of 2 methyl pentane, the NUMBER of linear carbon atom is five and a methyl group( CH3) is ATTACHED to the carbon atom in second position.Structural formula of 2 methyl pentane is CH3-CH(CH3)-CH2-CH2-CH3.ii) The electron dot configuration shows the electron pair SHARED in each of the bonds between carbon and hydrogen atom.
