Answer» Characters of Bryophyta: • These are found on both land and water, therefore they are known as amphibians of the plant kingdom. • The plant body is commonly differentiated to form stem and leaf-like structures. • These plants do not have specialized tissue for the conduction of water and other substances from one part of the plant body to another. • The main plant body of the bryophyte is haploid. It produces gametes, hence it is called a gametophyte. Examples: Moss (Funaria) and Marchantia. |
