Surface water flow, both over the slopes of the
land and in STREAM channels, collectively
designated as runoff. Runoff may be derived both
from:
1. Direct surface accumulation of
precipitation that does not infiltrate, and
2. From GROUND water outflowing along
lines where the water table intersects
the surface in streams, lakes and
marshes.
