Why sun appear red in sunset and sunrising before apparent time

Answer» When the sun is near the horizon, sunlight has to travel the greatest distance, during this long journey of sunlight, shorter wavelength colours like blue gets scattered leaving behind longer wavelength colour like red.
Due to the scattering of lower wavelength colors like blue, indigo, violet.... Hence the color having higher wavelength does not scatter so the sun appear red during sunrise and sunset....
