why should magnesium ribon be cleaned before buring in air |
|
Answer» you are my whole world If we don\'t rub it . It make barrier in burning that\'s why... Because when it is exposed in air then a layer of magnesium oxide is come on the magnesium ribbon so we have to clean it by sand paper The magnesium ribbon which we use usually has coating of magnesium oxide on its surface which is formed by the slow action of oxygen of Air on it .So, before burning in air, the magnesium ribbon is cleaned by rubbing with Sandpaper to remove the protective layer of magnesium oxide from the surface of magnesium ribbon so that it may readily combine with oxygen of air. I am not satisfied As some of its outer portion already reacted with atmospheric air...nd a layer formed on it so to remove these reacted layer we should have to Clean... before taking to any experiment..... Magnesium ribbon is cleaned before burning in air to remove the protective layer of magnesium oxide so that it may burn easily. |
