Why ports and harbour are less on East coast? |

Answer» Solution :(i) Rivers flowing eastward into the Bay of Bengal include the deltas of MAHANADI, the Godavari, the Krishna and the Kaveri are well developed deltas. (ii) Because of its emergent nature, it has less number of ports and harbours. (iii) The continental shelf extends UPTO 500 km into the SEA, which makes it difficult for the development of good ports and harbours. |
