| Answer» Because their growth depends upon the weather conditions and if the fertilization ocvirs in off season then the seed has to survive until the suitable weather for their growth comes.......so they need a source of nutrition which is provided by the fusion of a pollen grain with polar neuclei which forms endosperm........process is called double fertilisation | |
