It is a neutral forum for governments, NGOs, scientists, business and local communities with the aim of developing solutions and implementing policy related to the environment, conservation and sustainable development.Well-known among its projects is the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species also known as the IUCN Red List or Red Data List. There are various individual Commisions which provide the Union with policy advice on conservation issues. also provides important background information of the status of the species in a global or regional perspective. |
