Why it is said that vernacular names create confusion

Answer»

It is said that vernacular names CREATE confusion in case of plants. Every region has its own name for a PLANT and thus it SOMETIMES can create confusion.

Using scientific names can eradicate that confusion as it is constant everywhere.

But scientific names are not known to everyone and THEREFORE identification of a plant BECOMES impossible for commoners.
