Why is the second law of thermodynamics not violated by living organisms? |
|
Answer» The second law of thermodynamics STATES that the entropy of a closed system will always increase with time. The only KNOWN closed system is the entire UNIVERSE. Living organisms are not a closed system, and THEREFORE the energy input and output of an organism is not RELEVANT to the second law of thermodynamics. |
