Answer» When we kept magnesium in present of air then oxygen layer makes on magnesium. Magnesium becomes less reactive. To remove the oxygen layer we rub with sandpaper and magnesium again becomes more reactive and magnesium burn properly Because on my layer of mgo are formed and when the mgo is formed then the mg not burn easily It is done to clean the dirt formed on it such as MgO |
