Why is electron promotion not essential in case of hybridisation? |

Answer» Promotion of electrons is not essential PRIOR to HYBRIDIZATION. this means that for hybridization to take PLACE, it is not necessary that the electrons should be excited and promoted to higher ENERGY LEVEL. electrons when excited jump to higher energy level. so this is not necessary before hybridization takes place. |
