Why does the temperature of a substance remain constant while changing from one state to another? |
|
Answer» When a substance changes from one state to another, heat provided to the substance is utilised in increasing the distance between the molecules of the substance. However, the energy of the molecules (which is directly related to the temperature) does not increase. Therefore, the temperature of a substance remains constant while changing from one state to another. |
