Why does metal wire offer resistance when connected to a battery?

Answer»

hello

In a metal there are many free electrons and POSITIVELY charged atoms these free electrons MOVE in any DIRECTION the LIKE. But when the metal wire connected to a battery, these electrons move in a definite direction. THUS the obstruction caused to the electrons during their movement is known as resistance.

I hope my answer helps you....
