Why does flourine show abnormal properties ? |

Answer» e is the most electronegative element in the PERIODIC table .No other element is as electronegative as FLUORINE. Besides being the most electronegative element it has comparably small size in its group.So CAUSE this small size , repulsions are entertained within the atomCause of which it has abnormal properties when compared to its group constituents.Further their is no element which can OXIDIZE fluorine, Making it a strong oxidizing agent.hope it HELPS |
