Why does dry HCL gas not change the colour of the dry Litmus Paper |

Answer» Because in water the electrons of water are free. And shows their properties. It does not contains H+ lions Acid like hcl show their acidic properties in presence of water. If to put dry litmus paper in water and after perform experiment then , we obreve change colour. Because litmus paper do need a medium to show the change and dry HCl and a dry litmus paper doesn\'t had a medium. That\'s why no change has taken place |
