Why does calcium float in water ????? |

So, the heat released is not sufficient for the hydrogen to catch fire. Calicium starts floating because bubbles of hydrogen gas which are formed during the reaction stick to the surface of the metal and hence calcium floats on water. When calcium reacts with water, hydrogen gas is evolved which sticks in calcium and calcium starts floating.. Calcium starts floating in water because the hyadrogen bubbles formed in the reaction gets stick to the surface of the metal . |
