Dr Margolin had the strange experience at the wedding hall because the memories of his old love still haunted him. He had not forgotten his beloved Raizel who was killed by Nazis after her marriage with someone else. Because of their different social status he (Margolin) had not been able to marry her. He was under the influence of hallucination at the wedding hall, and hence he felt that Raizel was present there. He wanted to fulfil his teenage wish of getting married to Raizel but soon his hallucination was gone. And he realized that Raizel could not be there.

डॉ मारगोलिन को विवाह समारोह में वह विचित्र अनुभव हुआ क्योंकि उसके पुराने (पहले के) प्रेम की स्मृतियाँ (यादें) अभी भी उस पर छाई हुईं थीं। वह अपनी प्रेमिका रायज़ल, जिसे कि उसके किसी अन्य व्यक्ति के साथ विवाह के बाद नाजियों ने मार दिया था, को भुला नहीं पाया था। उनके भिन्न सामाजिक स्तर के कारण मारगोलिन उससे विवाह नहीं कर सका था। विवाह समारोह में उसे मतिभ्रम हो गया था जिससे उसे महसूस हुआ (लगा कि) रायज़ल वहाँ है। वह रायज़ल के साथ विवाह करके अपनी किशोरावस्था की चाहत को पूरा करना चाहता था लेकिन जल्दी ही उसका मतिभ्रम गायब हो गया और उसने महसूस किया कि रायज़ल
वहां नहीं हो सकती थी।
