Why do we shiver during winter? |
|
Answer» 1. Humans are homeotherms as they can regulate their body temperature with respect to the surrounding temperature. During winter, when temperature falls, the thermoreceptors detect the change in temperature and send signals to the brain. 2. Shivering reflex i.e. rapid contraction of muscles is triggered by the brain to generate heat and raise the body temperature. |
