Motion of the particles in the solid causes diffusion.Solids are TIGHTLY PACKED which disable them to diffuse into each other. The NATURE of solid is rigid and they doesn't have FLUIDITY, hence they WOULD not be able to move into one another. Thus diffusion is not possible with stone and sand. |
