Why do ferric chloride stop bleeding?? Suggest any other substances which can be used in place of ferric chloride for the same?

Answer»

When ferric chloride solution is applied on WOUND the colloidal particles surround the solution and FORM a clot. This causes coagulation of the blood, which stops furtherbleeding. Alum has the astringent properties and HELPS in BLOODCLOTTING.
