Why did nationalists tour in India |
| Answer» To gather the existing evidences of folklore, folk culture, folksongs, folkdance and folkpoetry in their own land which, they considered, were open testimonies to the glorified history of Indian civilisation which was eventually lost on foreign invasion. This helped inculcating a feeling of hatred among illiterate and graduate Indians against the colonial empire. This instilled a sense of common identity among Indians. | |
