Answer» Reasons for only three determinants in the Physical Quality of Life Index (PQLI): Morris had included only three determinants namely literacy level, life expectancy and infant mortality for calculating PQLI. The reason for this is as follows. We can get reliable data of all these three determinants for all the countries. All these factors (determinants) tells about the the results and not just the efforts. All these three factors are object oriented and hence can fulfill the justifiable standards for performance comparison.
