Answer» Mrs. Pumphrey showed her love for Tricki by sending him eggs, wine, brandy etc.\xa0in the hospital. All those\xa0things were consumed by the doctor and the other members of the hospital. Nothing was given to Tricki. Hence, Mr. Harriot was tempted to keep Tricky as his permanent guest.
