This property of metals is called malleability.\tDuctility: Metals can also be drawn into thin wires. The ability of metals to be drawn into wires is called ductility. Example: Gold and silver are the most ductile metals. Gold may be beaten into leaves so thin that it takes two hundred and ninety thousand to make one inch in thickness, or it can be drawn into a wire so fine that an ounce weight would extend a distance of fifty miles. | |
