Why are wars wasteful according to marbles nor monuments

Answer» War was called as wasteful in neither the poem ‘Not marble nor the gilded monuments\' because wars are very destructive. They destroy everything. In the past many gory wars were fought that destroyed buildings, palaces, statues, towns, cities and even nations. However, the poet believed, wars could not destroy art and poetry. So he decided to immortalize his friend through poetry.
