A tourist is a person who is travelling or visiting for pleasure, to different places, states and countries. 

Types of Tourists: 

1. Local Tourist – 

People who travel to places near their residence to visit various beautiful and recreational spots. 

2. Domestic or National Tourist – 

People touring to any place except their place of residence, within the country or state or any other such place. 

3. International or foreign Tourist – 

Travel to another country or countries by the resident of a certain country is done by an international or foreign Tourist. 

4. Free individual Tourist- 

Young tourists who travel alone or along with their partners as a duo. They arrange for necessary requirements of the travel themselves. 

5. Group Tourists – 

Some people prefer to travel in groups. All the arrangements for their travel are done collectively, under which they get discounts on their overall expenses and a sense of safety is also an element in it. 

6. Business Tourist – 

Some businessmen travel to other states or counties to expand their business, to organize fairs and exhibitions, and to meet other businessmen there.

The Purpose of Visit of the Tourist: 

1. Going elsewhere to get rid of the boredom of staying at one place for a long time and to rejuvenate oneself. 

2. Travelling to other places to obtain knowledge and experience. 

3. Journeys for business and earning a livelihood. 

4. Journey for political thoughts, struggles and acquisition of power. 

5. Journey for propagation publicity of thoughts and religion.
