What will happen if we put an animal cell and plant cell into a solution of sugar or salt in water ? |

Answer» Answer: When an animal cell and plant cell will kept into a SOLUTION of SUGAR or salt in water, cell will undergo the PROCESS of OSMOSIS. During the process of osmosis, the water will move outside cell through cell membrane of plant and animal cell because osmosis will allow water to move from LOWER solute concentration to higher solute concentration, that is the outside of the cell. It will make the cell to shrink. Hence, animal and plant cell will shrink if placed in a solution of sugar or salt in water due to osmosis.
