What will be the solution for the equation cos θ  = 0 ?

Answer»

Given,

cos θ = 0

\(\theta = \pm\, \frac{\pi}{2}\) ,\(\pm\, \frac{3\pi}{2}\) , \(\pm\, \frac{5\pi}{2}\) , .... satisfy the equation cos θ = 0 as

cos θ = cos (\( \pm\, \frac{\pi}{2}\) ) = cos (\(\pm\, \frac{3\pi}{2}\) ) = ... = 0

⇒ The general solution of cos θ = 0 is \(\theta = (2n+1) \frac{\pi}{2}\) , n ∈ I
