What were the main objections raised against the Darwin’s theory? |
|
Answer» Answer: CERTAIN points which were proposed by Darwin are accepted. There are certain DRAWBACKS in his original theory and the other scientists had certain objections regarding Darwin's theory. The objections to Darwinism are as follows: (i) Darwin could not explain the origin and cause of variations which are generated during evolution. (ii) He EMPHASISED the importance of the fittest organisms. Later, it has been suggested fit and fitter forms can also co-exist. (iii) The principle of INHERITANCE was not present during Darwin. Hence Darwin believed in the theory of 'pangenesis'. This theory explains that the organs give rise to a certain STRUCTURE which moves to gonads for development. Hope it helps :) |
