It aimed at making the administrative system more efficient and rational. These were:\tThe Napoleonic Code abolished all privileges based on birth and established the principles of equality before law and secured the right to property.\tNapoleon simplified administrative divisions, abolished the feudal system and freed peasants from serfdom and manorial dues.\tIn the towns too, guild restrictions were removed.
