What was the incidents of Frankfurt parliament. Explain? |
| Answer» The\xa0Frankfurt Parliament\xa0was called to discuss reforms and attempt to draft a constitution for a unified Germany. This was seen as the best way to stop the political unrest. The constitution was completed in March 1849: the German states were to be united as a German Empire headed by a German Emperor. This\xa0assembly\xa0drafted a constitution for a German nation to be headed by a monarchy subject to a\xa0parliament. However, it faced opposition from the aristocracy and military. Also, as it was dominated by the middle classes, it lost its mass support base. In the end, it was forced to disband on 31 May, 1849. | |
