1.

what type of rules Mr. Crocker Harris did not want to follow

Answer»

Crocker Harris was a very strict and rigid teacher who expected all rules and regulations to be followed every time. He was very hard on students with respect to their studies and was not at all bothered about their sentiments. Crocker Harris also had a non-understanding and indifferent attitude towards his students. As a result, no student dared to disobey him and respected him out of fear.

An example of the personality of Crocker Harris can be seen by the way he responded when Taplow asked him for the form that he should have got for doing extra work. The teacher replied that he had given the boy exactly what he deserved – nothing less, nothing more
