What is twinklinng of star

Answer» It is due to atmospheric refraction
hii
When light passes through different layers of atmosphere it undergo refraction.stars are actually point size souce bodies which appears twinkling. This refraction is caused due to change in densities at each layer of atmosphere.
What a nice answers...
Stars do not really twinkle, they just appear to twinkle when seen from the surface of Earth. The stars twinkle in the night sky because of the effects of our atmosphere. When starlight enters our atmosphere it is affected by winds in the atmosphere and by areas with different temperatures and densities. This causes the light from the star to twinkle when seen from the ground due to atmospheric refraction.
Twinkling of star is due to atmospheric refraction of star light. The atmosphere is made up of several layers and the refractive indices which keeps on changing continuously due to this path of light rays from the star keep on changing their path continuously. As a consequence, the number of rays entering , the pupil of eyes goes on changing with time and the stars appear twinkling.
