Answer» To transport blood and to purify the blood Heart is a pumping organ.It receives oxygenated blood from lungs and send it to all parts of the body .The ixygen from the blood is utilised by all parts of the body for performing various life processes of life.Note:-when tge blood goes into the lungs it is deoxygenated but the oxygen inhaled by us mixes with the blood from alveoli by diffusion and the carbon dioxide present in the blood diffuses into alveoli and bring back to the nose while it is exhaled.
