What is the shape of RBC? |
|
Answer» A RED blood cell (ERYTHROCYTE), is in theshape of a disk whichis thinner at the center. It is 2.5 MICROMETERS (10^-6 m) thick at the edge, and more or less 0.8 micrometers in the centre. From the top it looks like a circe and it is approximately 7.8 micrometers in diameter. The SIZE of erythrocytes is relatively consistent from one cell to an other, therefore they can be used like a “measuring stick” in microscopes slides, to estimate relative sizes.Erythrocytes have a unique shape and andcompose 49% of the blood, making them really easy to spot under the microscopes |
