What is the remainder when 10x^159-5 is divided by (x-1)? show solution pls

Answer»

ANSWER:

The polynomial REMAINDER theorem says that when f(x) is DIVIDED by (x−a),

the remainder is given by f(a).

Here, f(x)=x5+1 and it is divided by (x−2)

∴a=2

∴Remainder=f(2)=25+1=33
