Answer» The origin is altogether different.Caste has its origin in VARNA system.Such a rigid system has become prominent in the later Vedic age(1000–600BCE). First mention of such a system is in Brahmanas and Vedas. On the other HAND, religion is a BELIEF system and is prominently understood as faith Caste as such is SPECIFIC to India where as religion is prominent across the world.Even the communist society( which belief in no God) such as China has large number of People following Buddhism hope it helps
