What is the consequences of a cell having lower water concentration than the surrounding medium |
|
Answer» Explanation: If the cell is having lower WATER concentration than the surrounding medium i.e, the cell is having a hypertonic solution or a solution having more SOLUTES than SOLVENTS and the external ENVIRONMENT of the cell is more water concentrated that is the solution outside the cell is hypotonic (dilute solution ) or the solution is having more solvent particles than solutes . If a cell is in such a state then the solution will simply move from the region of its higher to lower concenctration it means that the endosmosis will take place and the cell will SWELL up and gain water.
