Answer» Placenta - A special tissue embedded in the uterus wall with the help of which human embryo gets nutrition from mother’s blood.Function:(1)To provide large surface area for glucose and to pass through mother’s blood to the embryo.(2)The metabolic waste generated by embryo is removed through placenta into mother’s blood.Hope it helps:-) Placenta is a disc shaped tissue in female reproductive system which helps in providing nutrition to the unborn child.
